Professional Biography:
George was born into a family with an impressive
history and sacred tradition of singing Southern
Gospel music. With his family group "the Sheltons",
George has been featured on over 30 professional
recordings, the Blue Ridge Quartet television show
and the Grand Ole Gospel Opry on WSM radio in
Nashville.
The Sheltons shared the stage with some of the
finest names in Gospel music and introduced "Jesus
Is Coming Soon" in 1968 which was the first song to
chart at #1 in the Singing News Magazine. In the mid
1970's George joined the Senators Quartet from
Memphis, TN and introduced "Jesus Is Mine" which
also climbed the charts to #1.
George now resides in Dade City, FL with his wife
Gail where he operates Shelton Sound Studios and
performs with the Orlando-based "Floridians".
